Land administration in Rajasthan is governed by the Rajasthan Land Revenue Act of 1956 and the Rajasthan Tenancy Act of 1955. In the official digital revenue records (Board of Revenue Rajasthan - Apna Khata / E-Dharti Portal), agricultural land area is officially recorded in metric Hectares.

However, in local land transactions, agricultural registries, and pattas, traditional units such as Pucca Bigha, Kachcha Bigha, and Biswa are predominantly used.

Because measurement standards vary between cadastral settlement areas, customary dryland tracts, and the canal command areas (IGNP), this calculator provides separate verified operational modes to ensure exact, error-free conversion.

Rajasthan uses three distinct land measurement systems:

• Standard Pucca Bigha (55-yard / 165 ft Jarib): The statewide cadastral benchmark. 1 Pucca Bigha = 20 Biswa = 400 Biswansi = 27,225 sq ft (3,025 sq yd = 0.625 Acre = 2,529.285 sq m). 1 Hectare equals approximately 3.9537 Pucca Bighas.
• Customary Kachcha Bigha (132 ft × 132 ft): Traditional non-canal measure. 1 Kachcha Bigha = 20 Kachcha Biswa = 17,424 sq ft (1,936 sq yd = 0.40 Acre = 1,618.743 sq m). 1 Pucca Bigha equals exactly 1.5625 Kachcha Bighas.
• Canal Command Murabba (IGNP - Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, Bikaner): In canal command colonization areas, land is divided into square blocks of 25 Bighas called a Murabba (825 ft × 825 ft = 680,625 sq ft = 15.625 Acres = 6.323 Hectares).
